About Me:
I've been teaching college English for more than 20 years (since 2009 at Adrian College), and one of the very best parts of my job is getting to know students, encountering new ideas with and through them, and sharing my passion for the power of words. I primarily teach writing courses in the English department, but I also teach in the Women and Gender Studies program, and occasionally in the Leadership and Ethics minor.
Outside of work, much of my time is spent with my family: my spouse and I have two active middle school boys and one very active two-year-old black lab/mix rescue dog, Bowie. I also like to stay active and discovered the joy of playing soccer shortly after my second child was born; I've been playing year round in both women's and coed leagues ever since. To make sure I can bend and not break, I'm also a practitioner of yoga, as well as a certified yoga instructor.
While both my husband and I are very rooted to Michigan--we were both born and raised here--we love to travel and do as much of it with our boys as we can, both in the U.S. and abroad.
